TikTok Shop takes a flat 9% commission from every UK sale in 2026. That is the headline number, not the real one. Once fulfilment, affiliate commission and ads stack on top, most sellers give up 20 to 35% of each sale. Updated July 2026.
What is the headline commission?
9%, flat, on net GMV. Net GMV means the price the customer actually paid after seller discounts, and it excludes separately charged shipping and VAT, per Z MEDIA's TikTok Shop fees guide. There are no category tiers, no listing fees and no monthly subscription. For context, the 9% is recent. UK commission rose from 5% to 9% on 2 September 2024, the first rise since the platform launched with an introductory rate of 1.8%.

What does a £35 sale actually pay out?
The same £35 sale costs you a different amount depending on how it arrived. Four versions, arithmetic shown:
Organic order, fulfilled by FBT: £3.15 + £1.08 + £1.99 = £6.22. That is 17.8% of the sale.
Affiliate order at 15%: £6.22 + £5.25 = £11.47. That is 32.8%.
Paid order via GMV Max at 10%: £6.22 + £3.50 = £9.72. That is 27.8%.
Fully stacked (affiliate and ads both attributed): £6.22 + £5.25 + £3.50 = £14.97. That is 42.8%, the worst case.
No shop sells 100% fully stacked orders. Blend a realistic mix of 40% organic, 40% affiliate and 20% paid and you get (0.4 × £6.22) + (0.4 × £11.47) + (0.2 × £9.72) = £2.49 + £4.59 + £1.94 = £9.02 per order, or 25.8% of GMV. That is why the honest answer to "how much does TikTok Shop take" is 20 to 35% all-in, not 9%.
Is 20 to 35% too much?
Context matters. Amazon FBA typically costs 18 to 25% before advertising, and PPC goes on top. The structural difference on TikTok Shop is that most of the take is marketing you control, deployed in funnel order: affiliate, then organic, then paid. Affiliate rates are set per SKU and can be turned up for launch and down at scale. Ads can be capped. Only the 9% is fixed.

Commission is £0.90 at 9%. On FBT, an XS item adds £0.78, and because the order is under £22 you pay £0 shipping while the buyer pays £3.99. Total seller cost before marketing: £1.68, or 16.8%.
Does TikTok Shop charge listing fees or monthly fees?
No. There are no listing, subscription or account fees on TikTok Shop UK, per the fees guide. You pay the 9% commission when you sell, plus optional services you switch on.
Is the 9% commission negotiable?
